<div>A sign-up based Open Mic night for anyone involved in making electronic music, whatever the style, genre or format - anything from ambient and drone through synth pop, techno to industrial, noise and beyond! </div>

<div>On Friday, February 27, TILT-SHIFT welcomes Yasmine Benabdallah for a screening and discussion of four of her films. These will be accompanied by a screening of Nour Ouyada's <em>VERS LE SOLEIL</em>, followed by a discussion of Benabdallah's political work and creative practice. </div>

<div>Using contact microphones, electromagnetic pickups, and tactile transducers, attendees will learn techniques for combining these elements with various materials to make their own custom musical instruments. You will leave the workshop with a kit of electronic components that will allow you to continue combining these elements to explore the acoustic properties of the materials around you and build your own unique electro-acoustic voices. The workshop will be presented as a lecture/demonstration followed by a hands-on play session and group improvisation.  </div>

<div>Inspired by optical phenomena occurring while viewing the color panels of abstract painter Blinky Palermo, Byron Westbrook's <em>Translucents</em> explores the concept of "audio after-image". The work presents a series of audio scenes, with the intention of imprinting on the listener's mind in order to influence the way each consecutive scene appears. It is a play with memory, presence, and with time, experimenting with dynamics between perceiving presence in the space where one is listening vs the perception of an external space or place. For this concert, <em>Translucents</em> is presented in an expanded immersive form that differs from its published release. </div>

<div>Skylighght is the duo project of vocalist Gelsey Bell and saxophonist Erin Rogers, both active figures of the New York City experimental music community who have worked together for 15+ years as part of the new music collective, thingNY. Composed collaboratively in 2019, Skylighght cultivates a minimalist music constructed upon the organic acoustic vibrations of interlaced resonances and a mutual performer sensitivity. An exploration of resonant properties, Skylighght has been performed over a dozen times in spaces of varying characteristics, from grain silos to living rooms, from concert halls to outdoor tunnels. </div>
