Indexical welcomes Em Butler, a Social Documentation MFA student in the Film & Digital Media department at UC Santa Cruz. Butler received a BS in Human Biology at UC San Diego, with a minor in Visual Arts. She is a community organizer, writer, and filmmaker from Long Beach, California whose work struggles through the relationships between land, culture, embodied memory, and anti-imperialist movements. Alongside her work, Em will also screen Tsai Ming-liang's The Skywalk is Gone (2002), a mystery that unfolds against the backdrop of Taiwanese urban development. These will be followed by the 1996 short, Blight, which in the words of director John Smith, "revolves around the building of the M11 Link Road in East London, which provoked a long and bitter campaign by local residents to protect their homes from demolition."

Gregg will be performing one piece that contains material from his most recent album, Eso Es (Mexican Summer), which is a percussive experiment using patches exclusively from the DX7. The long-form piece will also contain an opening movement of new material that encapsulates twenty years of composition, including his work with Date Palms, which focused on American Minimalism heavily influenced by classical Indian music. Minimalism and Maximalism in one performance.

Prolific as a live performer, Mayuko Hino is most well-known for forming C.C.C.C. (Cosmic Coincidence Control Center) in 1990, together with Hiroshi Hasegawa, Fumio Kosakai and Ryuichi Nagakubo. In its early phase, the band grabbed attention by combining noise music with Hino’s sadomasochism performance using bondage ropes and dripping candle wax. C.C.C.C. released their European debut CD 'Flash' on Cold Spring in 1996. In addition to self-made instruments, Mayuko Hino plays noise with her six-theremin oscillators (in bright pink) – the one and only in the world, specially made by Ryo Araishi (a.k.a. ichion). She is also a member of Mne-Mic, DFH-M3, and Transparentz.
