Anna Friz is a Canadian sound and media artist and media studies scholar. Since 1998 Anna has predominantly created self-reflexive radio for broadcast, installation or performance, where radio is the source, subject, and medium of the work. Her compositions for theatre, dance, film, installation, and solo performance reflect upon public media culture, environment and infrastructure (human and extra-human, acoustic, and electro-magnetic), time perception, and speculative fiction.

Delicate Sen is the trio of Billy Gomberg (synthesizers), Anne Guthrie (french horn), and Richard Kamerman (percussion). Individually, the three have collaborated with a broad array of players in improvisation, new music, noise, electronica, and rock ‘n’ roll and worked with labels including Engraved Glass, Digitalis, Students of Decay, Experimedia, Obsolete Units, HOMOPHONI, Copy For Your Records, and more.

Anna Friz
Anna Friz is a sound and media artist who specializes in multichannel radio transmission systems for installation, performance, and broadcast. Since 1998, she has created and presented new audio art and radiophonic works in more than twenty-five countries. Her radio works, in which radio is often the source, subject, and medium, have been commissioned for national public radio in Canada, Australia, Austria, Germany, Finland, and Spain, and heard around the world on national, independent and clandestine frequencies. She also composes atmospheric sound works and sonic installations for theater, dance, film, and solo performance that reflect upon public media culture, political landscapes and infrastructure, time perception and speculative fictions. Friz is Assistant Professor in the Film and Digital Media Department of the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Delicate Sen is the occasional trio of Billy Gomberg, Anne Guthrie and Richard Kamerman.

Richard Kamerman (b. NYC, 1985) has been breaking electronics and crashing computers while trying to coax interesting and unpredictable sounds out of them for over a decade. Occasionally, he has also presented himself as a more serious composer of re-performable written music. Keywords: amplification, magnification, obfuscation, systems design, game theory, patterns, human error, accident, failure. Although a firm believer in the axiom that "one man's trash is another man's treasure," he ceased collecting his instruments from piles of junk left on the curb several years ago, fearing he might bring home bedbugs. Recordings of his solo or collaborative works have been released by Erstwhile Records, Pilgrim Talk, Contour Editions, RRRecords, and Engraved Glass, among others. Kamerman has performed or had his music performed throughout the US as well as internationally in Canada, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Chile. He also runs the small-press music label, Copy For Your Records.

Anne Guthrie is an acoustician, composer, and French horn player living in San Francisco, CA. She studied music composition and english at the University of Iowa and architectural acoustics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she completed her Ph.D in 2014. Her music combines her knowledge of acoustics and contemporary composition/improvisation. Her electronic music has focused on exploiting the natural acoustic phenomena of unique architectural spaces through minimal processing of field recordings. Her composition has focused on the orchestration of non-musical sounds, speech in particular. Her French horn playing has focused on electronic processing and extended techniques used in improvisatory settings, as a soloist and with Fraufraulein and Delicate Sen, among others. Her acoustics research has focused on the use of ambisonics for stage acoustics.

Billy Gomberg lives in San Francisco CA. His work creates a space, real or imagined, poetic or remembered, where a relationship can develop, where we can share some of each other’s inner language and experience.  Musical material from analog & digital synthesis and processing, in addition to various fidelities of field recordings & electroacoustic material, lay ground and illuminate our duration there. His practice is an exploration of emotion and experience, a means to articulate a poetry of our inner lives made available in the exchange of listening.

Billy’s solo LP Slight At That Contact was pressed by Students of Decay and released in October 2016.  Billy’s recent cassettes Transition and Beginners, were released in 2017 and 2018 (respectively) on Dinzu Artefacts, with A Changed Meaning issued by Strange Rules coming between them. Extinguishment, a duo with Anne Guthrie under the name Fraufraulein, was released by Another Timbre in early 2015, and their follow-up Heavy Objects was released by Marginal Frequencies in 2017.
