Between Scylla and Charybdis

Maidens of Delos (K.C.M Walker and Laura Steenberge) will be playing pvc carnyces — ancient Celtic battle trumpets made to look like monsters. The title, “Between Scylla and Charybdis,” means the same as “between the devil and the deep blue sea” or “between a rock and a hard place.” Scylla and Charybdis are ancient sea monsters who attacked sailors from both sides of a narrow strait in the Mediterranean Sea.

Entre Escila y Caribdis

Maidens of Delos (K.C.M Walker y Laura Steenberge) tocarán pvc carnyces — una antigua batalla céltica de trompetas que hizo visibles a los monstruos. El título Between Scylla and Charybdis”, significa lo mismo que “entre el mal y el profundo azul del mar” o “entre la roca y un lugar duro”. Escila y Caribdis son antiguos monstruos marítimos que atacaron a marineros en un pequeño estrecho en el Mar Mediterráneo.
